Created Equal:

Clarence Thomas in His Own Words

Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words, co-edited by Mark Paoletta and filmmaker Michael Pack, is a follow on to the terrific 2020 documentary of the same name, which was directed by Pack, and is based on the 25 hours of interviews Pack conducted with Justice Thomas for the film in 2018 and 2019.

In the book, Justice Thomas discusses his remarkable life in an informal and moving way. Former Attorney General Ed Meese praised the book, writing: “Michael Pack and Mark Paoletta have provided a fascinating account of an extraordinary man who rose from the most humble beginnings to become an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Based upon Clarence Thomas’s own words, Created Equal also offers an incisive commentary on some of the critical issues of our time: the Constitution and the rule of law, race relations, and our legal and judicial system."
